Well, i leave for Ecuador in 48 hours. Packing and getting ready. I purposely didn't plan much the last few days. I wanted to leave it open for rest and the unexpected.
I am humbled and speechless that this is my 5th time to So. America. God does do more then i can ask or think. He had been faithful in providing funds as well for all of our trips that last 5 years. I am blessed and thankful that we sponsor Alison there as well. This will be the 3rd time someone in our family has seen her in 1 year. Wow, amazing. Speechless again. The kingdom of God belongs to them. Matthew 19:14 Michael and Mal hopefully will get to see her tomorrow. I hope i get to hug her too.
I look forward to seeing the kids at Casa de Fe again too. Grace, Edison, JP, etc, etc. And i look forward to going to Tijuana again on Aug 28 to see Bianca, Lizeth, Rosa. And i look forward to mentoring a girl at Olive Crest this fall.

Dogs
I brought Summer down to the HB with me last week and i experienced that dogs create conversations with others. I was waiting for Mallorey outside Starbucks and a gentleman, who was almost blind and had some slowness in his mental capacities, wanted to pet Summer. We had a short conversation that went like this. "Do you like dogs? Yes, better then people. Why is that? Because they don't have an agenda." Wise man. We talked for just a few more minutes and we ended up giving him a water we didn't need.
Then we walk to the pier and sit near the pier. A small man came to wanted to pet Summer as well. He was slow mentally as well and had trouble walking. We chatted. He lived in HB, went to church in Irvine, didn't work, liked to travel. When Mal, Jessica and I were talking, he defined what we were saying and asked if we were going on a missions trip. He obviously needed someone to talk to. He was very nice.
I have been told that dogs attract people, and that it is a great way to meet people. I think I will bring Summer more often. I will see if it just happens when girls are together or will it happen when I go along with Michael? We will see.
